Disable On screen keyboard RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have the Samsung Bluetooth keyboard paired with tablet PC and it works well.

My question is whether or not it is possible to disable the on screen keyboard because I do not need it and it gets in the way.

  • Hey there,

Currently, I do not see an option to disable the on screen keyboard in the Windows Developer Preview. My experience with a laptop is that it will not popup the Metro on screen keyboard, so it is dependent on what device is being used and identified by the OS.

  • See if you can turn off the On Screen Keyboard using the followiong instructions.

    Go to Control Panel.
Click on More Settings for Desktop Control Panel.
Click on the Ease of Access Center.
Click on Start On Screen Keyboard.
Go to the bottom right of the On Screen Keyboard and click on Options key.
At the bottom of the Options Dialog Box, you will see an Underlined in Blue - "Control whether the On-Screen Keyboard starts when I log on."
This brings up the Use the compputer without a mouse of keyboard.
Uncheck the box for "Use On-Screen Keyboard".

Let us know if this helps on your next startup.
