._. (ds.store) files and ._~ and ._ files. How to hide them?

    Question

  • How can you hide mac files, which are normally hidden in file explorer?

We have loads of _. ds store and ._~ and ._ files, which needs to be hidden, they have no use for us

You can edit the view to only show items which have specific traits; Show items only when the following is true

How do you make it so it is Show items only when the following is false? I need to hide those ds.store files etc.

    Thanks,

    Tristan

  • Hi,

You could you add them to the blocked file types list in SharePoint. They would not appear then.

  • If you block them, you'll lose the metadata in the resource fork. Depending on the application, this _may_ be OK but this would not be universal. It depends on if the application supports magic numbers or not.

  • Hi Tristan,

As they mentioned, you can block these block file types if they have no use for you. If their replies help you, please remember to mark them as answers. It will help others who meet the similar question in this forum.

Besides, you could add filters to the view to not show certain file types. Like this:
