AESTIR moving to 601 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our company was just notified by U.S. Customs and Border Protection folks that they are upgrading their system, completion in fall of 2013, and will be useing X-12 601.

The BizTalk 2010 install included templates up to 503. Will Microsoft have version 601 xsd shema available any time soon for the EDI601 and EDI824's?

    Thanks

    Harold

  • BizTalk Server 2013 will have a "X12_00601_824.xsd" Schema (just extracted it from here:)

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35553

    File: MicrosoftEdiXSDTemplates.exe

I guess you could use this Schema on a BizTalk Server 2010, but you would need a 2013 license to use them (I think).

  • Currently, there is no built-in support for the 601 schema in BizTalk 2010. This prevents you from doing certain tasks in the Administration console, including:

    • Cannot set ISA 12, ST01 values for these messages
    • Cannot configure/generate a 999 acknowledgement for these messages
    • Cannot configure message-specific validation for these messages

You may be able to tweak the flow with a custom pipeline component to get a basic receive and send to work.

    I hope this helps!

  • Thanks for your response Morton. I have to observer that is not a trivial revelation. I would have thought Microsoft would offer some sort of service pack to BizTalk server 2010 to upgrade the schema collection.

Is there anyone on Team Microsoft that can offer a definitive answer to issue of permissions to use the 601 schema on a BT 2010 installation?

    Thanks in advance

    Harold

  • I will send your question to the BizTalk support team and ask them. I think I have done a similar thing to this before for a 5040 schema that did not exist out of the box.

    Thanks,

  • So, I am hearing no service pack - either customize or migrate. Ouch. Ok, it is what it is.

    Thanks for your reply

  • Hal, what you are getting on this forum is free support!

If you want this changed or you at least want to ask for the change, you should open a support ticket. No guarantees this will be fixed - support will need to give you an answer.

    Thanks,
