    i have a huge list with over 20 columns and 3 among them are people picker columns.

    I want to copy three columns from an excel sheet to the data sheet view of the list, when i copy three columns the columns which i dont select also get populated with some random values.

    the fields which are getting randomly populated are people picker fields, trying to find out how to avoid that

    This is in MOSS 2007

    Can you provide examples of what you're trying to paste in and what the end result is?

    At a stab, I'd make sure that you're pasting in the same format that the column is set too.
