SMP Performance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a custom board with Intel E3827 and Operating System WEC7. I want to run an application created with Qt (in this program I use QMutex).
When I disable SMP this application better its performance than I active it.
    Why I have this situation?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Marzio,

That is expected. Distribution across processors and thread leveling do not come for free but they do offer the ability for your device to continue to work around stalled applications.  You can set thread affinity to one processor and force your app to run in one core but you lose the benefit of cross processor distribution if you take that route.
