Received an unexpected EOF or 0 bytes from the transport stream. RRS feed

  • Question

  • On hitting one of the REST service, I am getting this error back "Received an unexpected EOF or 0 bytes from the transport stream."

I am using .NET 4.0(WCF Service) and is deployed on Win Server 2003. I am able to get a successful response using Soap UI(it is installed on the Win Server itself).

Tried all the solutions mentioned on the internet  i.e. ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Ssl3, etc.

The external service is getting our incoming request, they sending back the response but we are not receiving it.

Can any one please suggest what should be the problem and the fix?

  • Hi Sameer S Panicker,

According to this case, as far as I know, I guess that is certification issue.

So, first we need to modify the web.config file to httpsGetEanbale= true.

    like below:<serviceMetadata httpsGetEnabled="true"/>

Next, we need to configure a port with ssl certificate.

For more information, please refer to the following articles:

1.How to: Configure a Port with an SSL Certificate

2.WCF self hosted service over HTTPS

3.Making your Azure REST WCF Service work via HTTPS

I hope that will be helpful to you.

    Best Regards,

    Grady

It seems that Win2k3 server can't support what you doing.
