Developing a Forum Website like Forums.asp.net RRS feed

    HI all,

         I want to develop a website such as forums.asp.net for my final year project submission.  But I need synopsis of the project. Here is the dtail that i need to include in my project synopsis.

    1 Profile of the the problem assign (Defination /object of project)

    2 nature of project

    Design front end/ back end

    tools (why using particular tool)

    feasibility study (economical, technical, functional,

    methodology(top down ,bottom up, obect oriented)  why ?

    module ddescription

    Data flow diagram (Any software that can help me easy create dfd)

    Data structure

    Er diagram

    scope of project

    So basically i need any tutorial ,book, any article, any other source that can help me in all these development process topics

    Thanks please help me.

    Hopefully this is all you will need, because a forum such as this one takes years and years of multiple developer work to create such a robust and stable application.  For you to make something in 1 year from scratch is a tall order.  Hopefully all you need to present is a rough shell with basic forum guidelines and database interaction.  The best way to go about this is to look at an open source project or starter kit that already has a forum created.  From here you can take the code for the forum and modify it to your needs.  The only way to answer all of your questions is to take the open source code / starter kit and begin to dig through the code.  Once you understand the jist of the application you will be able to build you synopsis.  Below are (2) good links for starter kits (ASP.NET) and for open source code (CodePlex).  You should be able to download a kit or source code to get started:
