Physical folder assigned to a virtual directory/application visualization in admin. console

Hello,

It would be great to see at a glance in the administration console to which physical folder points each virtual directory or application. Sometimes it is needed to find the physical folder and then which virtual directory is pointing to it. Now the only way to achieve this is looking in the applicationhost.config.

In IIS 6 administration console we could see at a glance both virtual and phisical directory. Something similar would be great.

Hi,

Thanks for your posts. In IIS 7 and above, we can click "Basic Settings..." in Action panel of the admin console to see the settings about physical path and virtual directory.

Thank you very much for your answer. I know how "Basic Settings" works. What I meant is that it would be great to see at a glance all the mappings between virtual and physical directories as you could see in IIS 6. Thus, you could find the mapping between a virtual direcotry and its physical directory faster and viceversa.

Hi,
Open IIS Manager and navigate to the site on which you want to manage.
In Features View, in the Actions pane of the website.click View Virtual Directories.
(For your reference see the above image which was posted by pengzhen)

This list out all the virtual directories of the website with Physical path and identity.
