Any advice is appreciated

Users using Outlook will be able to publish items from their personal calendars to a public web based calendar

1. Create an Outlook-Addin that accesses the users Calendar
2. Create a Web Service to access your Web Calendar
3. Outlook-Addin will consume the Web Service and send updates to the Web Service when calender items are created and updated
4. Install Addin on client machines

Sounds good in principal, client permissions might be a bitch when integrating with Outlook (the whole ILOVEYOU worm and such).
