USB HID dropping packets RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Bit of a confusing issue.  I have a USB HID device connected to a monitor program that I developed in C#.  I seem to be missing USB interrupts.  I have a controlled device that pumps out one USB packet every 250ms.  Each packet has an embedded sequence number so I can monitor the receipt.  I miss 0.03% of the packets.  The monitor program is really the back end of a much larger data acquisition system and needs better performance than this.

I am scanning for inputs reports every millisecond (using a System.Timers.Timer approach).  Previously I was using a Forms.Timer until I realized the error in my ways.

I have tried input ring buffer sizes from 2 to 256 with no apparent change in performance.

Is there something I show be looking at?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Rob
