Virtual PCI-device? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I got a question concerning the record and replay of data that was loaded to a computer via a PCI-card. I hope I got the right mailing-list to ask this question.

For example: I am constantly recording data of a route I drive by car - and that data is loaded to the computer via a PCI-card. Afterwards I want replay this recorded traffic without driving that route again. So it should be of no importance for the program that is doing the recording on the computer if it is live-data, or if the data comes from some kind of virtual PCI-device. Unfortunately I can't switch to some other kind of data-source (like usb or network). So, for the software that is running on the computer, there has to be some kind of PCI-card - real or virtual (if there is something like that).

Maybe someone can tell me if an approach like this is possible at all - or even if there's an existing software that could help me.
