ODBC Connectivity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just got a new computer at work running Office 2013 and I'm trying to use access to connect to an oracle back end DB. I got an error.

    ODBC Called Failed

[Microsoft][ODBC Manager]The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the driver and the application (#0).

I have installed the oracle driver 11g version with a file name SQORA32.DLL DATED 3/30/2010.

This has been working when we are using and old office and now that we have move to a new office i'm not able to see the list of the tables. I was also able to create an entry in the User DSN and System DSN Tab and I was able to test my connection.

    Please help...

  • This error message points to a mismatch between the bit versions (32bit or 64bit) of Access and of the ODBC driver. If you have 32bit Access, you have to make sure that you are using the 32bit ODBC driver, and likewise with 64bit versions of Access and ODBC driver.
