Dashboard Page - text filter contains - 2013

    Question

  • Hi-

In SharePoint 2013, is there a way to get an input text box at the top of the page to send a 'text contains' value filter to 2 list view web parts on the same page?

I know this was something you could do in 2010 with parameters in SPD, but I am unsure of how to do it in 2013.

    thanks!

    Jesse

  • Hi Jesse,

Do you want to create text filter text box in the top of the page which include two list view webparts?

Try to follow the steps as below:

    1. Go to the page that you want to add text filter and edit it in advanced mode in SharePoint Designer.
    2. Find the list view web part, and then add parameter and filter. About how to modify List View web part filters and parameters in SharePoint Designer, follow the steps in the link below:

    3. In each list view web part, add relevant parameters and filters as below:

    4. In SharePoint Page, add a Text Filter web part

    5. Connections->send filter values to->list1 and list2, select relevant parameter you created in SharePoint Designer.

Finally, we can get the filter like the screenshot below:
