  • Hi

More than 100,000? What application you are working on?

    What is the environement?

    How many tables are involved?

How much time it takes when you directly executes the query?

    Many factors effect the scenario...

LINQ makes our life easy to specify easily what we want, under the hood it actually translates into sql to execute, So, you need to dig from database to application where it really causing delay...

You can also look into PLINQ which is available from .Net 4.0.

  • you can check CommandTimeout was set 30 sec by default. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.idbcommand.commandtimeout.aspx So some providers maybe throw the exception if this value was set non-zero value. In extreme, we can consider set the desired time by ourselves.
