  • Question

  • Hi Dear all friends,

I am newbies to WCF and start using some wcf service in my project.I want to host these WCF service as window service. But I also want to expose that service as .asmx(web service).I found the way to host wcf as window service but I can't find to expose as .asmx.

Is it possible to do? Is there any way to expose wcf service as .asmx(web service) but need to host in window service.
Please guide me the right way. I really appreciate your help.

    Thanks and Regards.

  • WCF is much more advanced framework over ASMX.

ASMX equivalent to WCF is basicHttpBinding which conform to the WS-I Basic Profile 1.1.

So you can create a WCF service which uses basicHttpBinding and host that to a Windows Service which will enjoy the power traditional .ASMX.
