Web Services CLR in different scema other than .dbo RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a CLR web services project that I want to be able to change the schema on. It is C#, 2.0 framework, and it deploys stored procs to the database.

What I am trying to achieve is to have a .web extension for my procs instead of the .dbo one. Something like dbName.web.uspSel_Employees. This will make it easier to determine which procs belong to our department specifically so we can maintain and trouble shoot them.

Is it possible to do this and how should I do this?

I do have a script that will help me to create synonyms in the database for the objects.

But will the .NET framework except a different extension?

In Visual Studios if I right click on the project and select properties I get a screen for different application properties.

On the database tab I need to change the Assembly Owner from blank to .web.

If I add that and create synonyms in the db will it break my app. or is more required?

  • I don't know how but the database team was able to change the schema to make this work without synonyms.
