Spatial support in OData V3 (on odata.org) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I originally posted this in the odata.org mail list, but the more I think of it the more I think the question could be more appropriate here:

    I am looking at the news section of odata.org and specifically the spatial stuff. It says that it now includes spatial support  - specifically that the Supplier-type has a property called Location of "geospatial" type.

    I thought I could do some magic with these - so I wanted to try using a "distance" function to utilize these.

    So I wrote this query based on an example (section Geospatial Literals in URIs) on http://www.odata.org/blog/2011/10/14/geospatial-properties .

    http://services.odata.org/V3/OData/OData.svc/Suppliers()?$filter=geo.distance(Location, point(-122.03547668457 47.6316604614258) lt 900

    But Fiddler tells me that the error I get is

     <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><m:error xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata"><m:code /><m:message xml:lang="en-US">Unknown function 'point' at position 23.</m:message></m:error>

    Am I doing this all wrong or is this specific feature not yet (on odata.org demo services)?
