a lot of prerequisites... RRS feed

  • Question

  • dear, my name is Marco and I'm developing on VS2010 using c#.

I have a problem on deploying my apps to customers.

I need for any PC 1.5 Gb of  prerequisites, with an App of 3 Mb...

Now... these are... Framework 3.5 for sql Server 2008. Framework 4.0 for my app. PowerShell, Crystal report runtime... etc..etc.. These are all Microsoft packets.

Using my app on Win XP, win vista, Win 7 ,  x86 or x64  my problem is multipled a lot... :-(

My question is: there is a way to enable PC to download the right packet from Microsoft sites? at the same of Windows Update, that downloads the right packet for the right OS? Can I force a Windows Update Sw list?

    Thanks a lot.

Ps. sorry for my bad English.

  • Crystal report is owned by SAP, not Microsoft.

You can just ask the user to install and run Microsoft Update... there is no need to write it by yourself.
