Expression Blend 3 SDK

Question
-
I installed Expression Blend 3 SDK. I see it in the Add/Remove Programs window. When I select Start->All Programs->Microsoft Expression->Microsoft Expression Blend 3 SDK I only see documentation for Expression Blend 3 SDK. According to the installation results I was successful. How do I start Expression Blend 3? I don't see it from Visual Studio nor do I understand how to start it. Thanks for your help.

That is correct - if you find you still need it after the trial period (I believe it is 60 days), then you can purchase it at your favorite software store.

Hi,
This is a Windows Workflow forum, so I'm no Expression expert, but let me give it a shot. You downloaded the Expresssion Blend 3 Software Development Kit, which is an extension to Blend 3, not the product itself. I found an article regarding Blend 3 here that hopefully will help you out:

It looks like you can also get a trial version of Blend 4 here:

Thanks Ed for the reply. The install that I used was "BlendSDK_en.msi". I downloaded from the http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=f1ae9a30-4928-411d-970b-e682ab179e17&displaylang=en url. That was a good idea though.Monday, June 6, 2011 6:37 PM

Hello Ed. I will try the site you sent me as well. Currently I am on the company LAN and I am prohibited from going to that site evidently.

I went to the site and it wanted to download Expression Blend 4. According to documentation that I have read, Bend 4 goies with SilverLight 4 which needs to have VS 2010 installed. Because of timelines that is not an option. Is there a place where I can get Expression Blend 3?Tuesday, June 7, 2011 1:49 PM

That is strange - I thought I had posted this link for you yesterday, but do not see it here!
Here is the link for Blend 3:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=e82db5e2-7106-419e-80b0-65cce89f06bb
This should get you up and going.

Thanks Ed. This may be a dumb question, but if the download is a trial version will this package only be good for a short period of time?

Thanks Ed. For some reason I thought it was part of the MSDN license. Thanks for the help. I'll close this.
