Put my application in "NEW" RRS feed

  • Hello all,


    How can i put my application in the "NEW"

    For example at desktop when i click the left button and click on new

    (new folder/new shortcut.../ new myapplication.exe)

  • Why would you want to do that ?

    I can see adding a menu item to create a new file that your application can open/process/save but not the application itself.

    For example if i am making an application that the user would use it more than 8 times a day.

    It would be easier for him.

    If you want to do this in code then you only need to perform the same steps with the Microsoft.Win32.Registry class.  There is an easy tutorial done for this forum regarding the My.Computer.Registry "shortcut" class here:

    Yes and no.  Yes it starts your application from a location in explorer that is not your physical executable...  but this is a feature that sits atop explorer that allows you to customize the visibility of your application beyond just sitting on desktop.  It's actually quite a powerful feature.
