Maintenance Plans Log RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We are migrating our database from SQL server 2012 to SQL Server 2014. We are also migrating "Maintenance Plans". After Importing Maintenance Plan to SQL Server 2014, it executes without any error. But "Under Maintenance Plans/View History", it doesn't show any log. But if I select view history under "SQL Server Agent\Jobs" I can see the log. Is anything need to enable to see log under "Maintenance Plans"? If I create new Maintenance Plan on "SQL Server 2014" , then it generates log under "SQL Server 2014". See the following image, imported jobs are circled with Red color

  • Hi Drew,

Agree with Shanky, the behavior of maintenance plan log is by nature in SQL Server.

Based on my test, after I migrate a maintenance plan  from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2014, I also get no log under Maintenance Plans/View History after executing the plan.

If you concern about the behavior that SQL Server doesn’t show for imported Maintenance Plan under Maintenance Plans/View History, you can submit a feedback to the Microsoft Connect at this link https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback  . • Yes it is definitely concern. It should show log if you try to view history under "Maintenance Plans". SQL server 2014 show for new created maintenance plan , but not for "Imported Maintenance Plan".

Is this might be a Bug in SQL Server or does some setting need to change for Imported Maintenance Plan

    Thanks
