Outlook 2007 - Changes to WordEditor objects are not saved RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am updating tables in Outlook appointments.

        Dim oAppt As AppointmentItem
        Dim oDoc As Word.Document

        Set oDoc = oAppt.GetInspector.WordEditor
        oDoc.tables(1).Rows(1) = "Some text"
        oAppt.Save

The changes will not be saved! While the oDoc.Saved = False nevertheless oAppt.Saved = True. The only way to save seems to be

        oAppt.Display
        oAppt.Close olSave

As soon as the appointment is displayed oAppt.Saved changes to False

However, as many appointments need to be updated this makes the script very slow as it needs to open and display each appointment and most of the time is consumed doing this.

Is there any other way to update the oAppt object and force it to save changes to oDoc object?

    Thanks for your help,

    Conor.
