Power manager, suspend timer not expiring RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all, I'm running Win ce 5.0 on a ARM device. It seems if I boot my system with AC power plugged in, and just let it come up until the explorer is ready, the "ACSuspend" event does not get fired. I don't touch the screen yet, so no PM event has been fired yet. If I leave the device like it is, it will just run forever. Has this been an issue in the past ? I don't see any update regarding this (yet). Anybody an idea ? Thanks a lot in advance !

  • Hello,

    I think your issue should be raised in the Windows Embedded Compact Platform Development. I believe they will know more information of this issue than us, and I will move this one to that forum.

    Thanks for your understanding,

    Best regards,

    Jesse

  • In the platform.reg file do the following configuration, this is just an example for you, you need to have the required timeout value as per your requirement :-

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts]
        "ACUserIdle"=dword:3c               ; in seconds
        "ACSystemIdle"=dword:12c    ; in seconds
        "ACSuspend"=dword:0                 ; in seconds
        "BattUserIdle"=dword:3c             ; in seconds
        "BattSystemIdle"=dword:b4   ; in seconds
        "BattSuspend"=dword:12c             ; in seconds
        "ACSuspendTimeout"=dword:0                          ; timeout disabled on AC power
        "ACResumingSuspendTimeout"=dword:F          ; 15 seconds
        "BattSuspendTimeout"=dword:B4                       ; 3 minutes (180 seconds) on battery
        "BattResumingSuspendTimeout"=dword:F        ; 15 seconds

     [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\SystemIdle]
         "Default"=dword:3           ; D3
         ;"Default"=dword:1           ; D1
         "Flags"=dword:0             ;

  • Thanks for all the replies.

    @Vinoth: I had a quick glance at it but parked it until the holidays were over, but now I cannot access that blog. Would it be possible to set it online again ? Thanks a lot in advance, it seems like this is the thing I need.
