  • Hi,

Did you refresh the analyze test runs page?

Can you give exact repro steps for this? also version of MTM and TFS?

    thanks,

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

One thing need to confirm with you, do you want analyze test runs support to do not show some test run information. Or MTM has a issue that analyze test runs lose some test run history, and you want to fix the issue? It will be better make an example of the scenario.

  • Hi,

Did you forgot to select manual test runs by mistake? You should select manual test runs to see the test runs.

    Thanks

  • We appear to have had some test cases that were marked as passed some weeks back in MTM 2010.

Now when we look in MTM, there is no sign of the runs under Analyse Test Runs and the tests are marked back as Active rather than passed.

We ar trying to find out if anything like that has ever been reported or possible

    thanks

    .

  • Another way to look at this - if you have a test case where you have it marked as passed and you have a run in analyse test runs that show when it is passed, now you go back and mark it active again as you want to run the test again, should the previous run disappear from test runs under analyse test runs - i dont think it should - correct?

  • Hi,

Just by resetting the test case, you won't lose the test runs. One can still look into the test results history by selecting the test point and clicking on "view results"

May be you have copied the test plan Or suite to another place and looking for results in the new suite/plan.

    thanks,

  • We are thinking that for this particualr team they used the option of run with options instead of just Run when marking test passes as pass/.fail.  When doing this they were putting in a build number, hwoever it seems if they did it next time and made same options with new build number, it was wiping out the runs from teh previous build - if you just use run (not run with options), this is not a problem

does this make sense to anyone , please ket us know

  • Hi,

Can you confirm this: Is the build got deleted where the runs have happened?

If yes, the test runs associated with the build will also get deleted. This is by-design.

Let me know if this is not the case.

    Thanks,

  • Yes that is correct that when you delete the build then you also delete the test run from analyse test runs in mtm - why does the system delete the test runs when delete build - we  like to keep our test runs for audit purposes - thanks

  • HI,

This is an option given to the user. Please edit your build definition and uncheck on not to delete test results.

By doing this, test results will stay for a long time, which will consume space in TFS and many other users have complained for this and we had to release "Test Attachment cleanup tool" for this.

    Please read this blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/granth/archive/2011/02/12/tfs2010-test-attachment-cleaner-and-why-you-should-be-using-it.aspx
