Transactions in doubt RRS feed

  • Question

I've been working on a code base for a long time and recently moved from SQL2000 -> 2005, VS2005->2008 and installed .net 3.5. When I'm debugging I'm now getting some transactions moved to 'in doubt' and they stick around. Even if I close the IDE, SQL won't allow anything to run on the whole server until the server is restarted!!! It doesn't happen consistantly enough that I can post code to reproduce the issue. In fact the same code can work quite happily for long periods. It maybe that the machine is under stress at the times it fails (too many application opens - I'm running the lot on a one machine) but I'm not sure.

Anyone else seen anything like this or have any ideas what might be causing it?

FYI WinServer2003, using TransactionScope for transactions.
