Is the Instance Identifier in 3A4 case sensitive RRS feed

Answers

  • To answer you specific question, no.  It doesn't matter if it's caps because PIP identifiers are all expressed in caps.

It really depends on your scenario.  It should be 3A4 simply because the PIP identifier is 3A4, not 3a4.

However, if you're exchanging 3a4 and no one is complaining, it may not be a problem.

  • RosettaNet?

It depends on where the problem is.  It should be 3A4, as opposed to 3a4, but if the trading partner sends 3a4, it's likely there's a way to handle it.  I haven't touched BTARN in a while so its fuzzy.

  • I am referring to the <InstanceIdentifier> in the service header. See below. RNIF specification did not indicate if this field is case sensitive. So does it matter if the alphabet is in CAPS? Thanks.
