Answers

  • if we can change the password existing servers are not running,

how can fix this issue with out change the password.

I dont think there is any way without changing the password as long as you are not sure of your old password.

  • Hi,

You can't recover an SQL password, unless you go with a brute force approach (trying all possible combinations of letters, digits and special characters).

  • If you have sysadmin rights on the SQL Server - you can reset it with

alter login sa with password = 'newpassword'

  • I think your main problem that you need to start the server. If it is then you can access the server by "Windows Authentication" and can do anything. also can change the SA password.

But if you need the SA password retrieve, I think this is not possible. Because security policy should not support it.

  • Couldnt you try starting the database in single-user mode and adding a local admin from in there?
