Calling RDP connection API from windows store app

    Question

  • Hi

I want to call RDP client API from my windows store app and make a RDP connection. I have found one for Javascript http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh994985.aspx   But I don't want to use Java script I want to use either C#,C++ or VB. Is there any way to call similar API to make RDP connection using C#,C++ or VB.  I have looked at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh448564(v=vs.85).aspx   Is it possible to use this API from C#,C++or VB. If so please provide a Sample code for that. If there is any other alternative to make a RDP connection using C#,C++ or VB please let me know. Any help will be appreciated.

  • The IRemoteDesktopClient interface is implemented by the RDP control, which is supported for use by JavaScript apps.

The Windows.System.RemoteDesktop.InteractiveSession object can tell if you are currently running in a remote session. It doesn't allow making an outbound connection.

  • No, the RDP control is available only for JavaScript. There is no RDP API available for Windows Store apps in other languages.

  • Thanks for your reply. What the IRemoteDesktopClient is about? Looks like it uses C++ syntax http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh448564(v=vs.85).aspx

and also I will appreciate if you can clarify what is the use of Windows.System.RemoteDesktop name space
