[UWP]How to connect Web Api to UWP WIndows 10

Question

How do I connect Web Api (ASP.net MVC Web Api) to Windows 10 UWA. retrieve data from SQl Server database so I can handle it my windows 10 UWA project.
and how I can write every query into the WEb api to retrieve any data from any table.

FYI the first link, whilst very good, has some pretty bad c# code, i.e. please don't use Task.Wait()
