Application Insights - Error Retrieving Data RRS feed

  • For the last 6 or so hours I have been seeing this error in Application Insights Availability . I am seeing this across multiple subscriptions, I've tried refreshing the browser and login out and back in to Azure Portal. Is there an outage at the moment, or any other ideas on how to troubleshoot?

  • Hello, James!  Thank you for using Application Insights.

    There are a number of ways you can check to see if there is an Azure outage:


    Azure Portal - Service Health (Search for "Service Health")


    Azure Status Page


    Azure Cloud Collaboration Center


    Doing this, I saw that one of my Application Insights resources in Central/East US may be experiencing some issues.  I would encourage you to check your Service Health report in the portal to see if your services are being impacted.

    Starting as early as 13:45 UTC on 17 Jun 2019 you have been identified as a customer using Application Insights in Central US and/or East US who may experience latency, data access issues, and data gaps when accessing application data. Some customers may also experience incorrect alert activation--either false positive alerts or alerts not firing.

    Engineers determined that some instances of a back-end service are experiencing increased latency, causing a subset of requests to time out. In most cases, retry logic in the back-end service allows these requests to complete.

    Engineers have carried out a number of mitigation steps, and customers should no longer be experiencing impact at this time. However, until a root cause is discovered and addressed, the issue could reoccur. The next update will be provided once our engineering team can confirm that this is fully mitigated.
