Edit text content as well as formating RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've created a protected document with only allowing "Filling in forms". The document has FormField Text inputs and content controls where ever required so that the user can input text content.

Now, in a couple of places in the document, I want the user to not only edit the text content but also to apply/change formatting (such as changing font/color of text, setting bold/underline/italics, etc.) of any text content within these places.

I've tried using formfields and content controls but these do not seem to have any such options.

Please let me know how can I solve this problem or any work around to this.

    Thanks.

  • Why are you mixing formfields and content controls.  While they can be mixed, using formfields "requires" you to retrict the document to "filling in forms" and doing so kills any chance of formatting text.  What you need, if you can eliminate the formfields, is to use restrict editing to "No changes."  Before protecting the document select each content control and define is as an editable region.

    See: http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tip_pages/content_control_fillin_form.html and the heading:

Restrict Editing — No changes (Read only) with Exceptions
