Videos of a real and working application of MRDS RRS feed

  • Hi,

I've just posted two videos showing a real-world, working application of MRDS.

    Part 1 (preparing the demo):

    Part 2 (demo):

As you can see we are working on elevator control systems. At the moment we have nearly full access to all signals and services of the elevator control system via a set of DSS services and some of them implement quite complex logic. The videos show only a very small part of the whole functionality. Among other things, we are working currently to add voice and gesture control to the system (we have a funny/easy Xbox control application that is not shown).

Our elevator systems are "Robotics friendly" - they create very accessible environment for the home robots. It's much cheaper and easier if the robot has service-level access to the elevator. It can use the elevator easily (in a complex way if needed), not having to find buttons, pushing the buttons, finding out if the doors are opened etc. So, there is no need for expandable arms, complex vision etc. (our lego mindstorms or Create can use the elevator completely autonomously).

  • Great application! I assume that you have good security on the Internet connection so that people cannot hijack elevators :-)
