How to give Full Trust to dlls in .Net Framework 4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We converted our application from .NET Framework 1.1 to .Net Framework 4.0 recently. We used Visual Studio 2010. New environment is in Windows 2008R2 64 bit server. We faced an issue earlier in 1.1,  which is related to dll trust level. One of the dll invokes an XSLT function, that  was throwing exception. We used Mscorcfg.msc and gave full trust to this dll and resolved this issue. Again we are getting the same error in 4.0 framework.

Looks like Mscorcfg.msc has been removed from 4.0 Framework onward. I read machine wide security policy has been eliminated now.

How to achieve full trust for dlls in Framework 4.0? Any help appreciated, let me know if need more details.

  • We found a workaround for this. XSLT file location was configured with <IP address>\<Shared Folder>\FileName.xsl earlier. Now we changed that to local server C:\<Folder Name>\FileName.xsl.
