ReportViewer control adding new web.config for project in the solution RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have A solution with multiple web Application projects  in VS2008 . All projects use single web.config file which is inside the Main Project . I have added a reportviewer control to an aspx page inside  a project that dosent have web.config file, by default vs2008 is adding new web.config to this project . I dont want this web.config file , i can include these entries (http handler for  ReportViewerWebControl.axd ...) inside my main web.config file  and run the application.

    <

    httpHandlers>

    <

    add path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" verb="*" type="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" validate="false" />

    </

    httpHandlers>

Even though i am deleting this new web.config file the VS2008 project is again adding it back.Is there a workaround to this issue ? , I tried the same procedure with Ajax Toolkit controls by adding it to an aspx page inside  the project .Here too VS2008 adds new web.config file ,but when i delete this file it goes away.

For Reportviewer control the web.config file is not going away even after deleting. Is there a way to configure project not to include a web.config file?
