i would like to know is it possible to enable push notification in windows store app without using windows azure service and without registering the app.

if possible how i can use normal web service to enable push notification in my app(i.e. if any update/added item should be notified.)

    Thanks in advance.

  • to use WNS (WIndows Notification Service) you will need to register your app in the dev dashboard. Its not required to use azure. your own webservice can send notifications to wns too,, wns will relay them to the device. see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh779722.aspx
