Calling MS Access query from a different Access DB RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm working on a project involving a set of custom MS Excel add-in functions which call into a DLL for calculation.  There is an Access database which we query from the DLL.  I wrote a query and stored it within the database and was able to query it as expected from the DLL when calling the function from the Excel add-in.  A co-worker has a separate tool written in VBA stored within a separate MS Access database.  The VBA within the separate database calls into the above-mentioned DLL and crashes when it attempts to call the query.  If I create a table with the same name as the query, it performs as expected.

Any ideas for how to resolve this?  Could this be some strange security setting?  I'm at a loss.

I'd be happy to provide further detail if necessary and I'm sorry in advance if my description is unclear.

    Thanks,

    Brian
