New to Metro UI

    Question

  • Hi

    I am a web and user interface designer, I want to start learning designing metro apps for windows phone

    I dont know what tools I need to design metro interfaces, is photoshop enough or not ?

  • Designing Metro-style app UI is not different from designing for Web and you can use any of your preferred tools – Photoshop, Paint, napkin, etc.

    Check Designing UX for apps – this is a good start point to learn about Windows 8 app design and also you can download some PSDs with control and layout templates.

    If you want to be able to create interactive designs, look Expression Blend. It is especially useful if you work in a close cooperation with developers.

  • It is different in general, as in windows phone you have smaller screens and resolutions etc...
