View application log in event viewer by connecting another computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there any way to access the application log of another computer using windows services account? There is one option like
start > run > eventvwr > File > Connect to another computer > Provide computer name

But it does not ask for the credentials or any other service account...

Kindly let me know if this is not the correct forum for this question!

    Thanks

  • I'm trying to connect Windows Server 2003 event viewer app log from Windows XP. Actually I could achieve this by running the event viewer exe with run as option.

  • Yes... I mean run as with correct credentials and then connect to remote computer name. It will show the events of remote computers...
