How to create Container inside an ARM Storage Account using PowerShell

  • Previously in ASM we has a command New-AzureStorageContainer which would create a new container inthe storage account but how can we achieve this using PowerShell for ARM Storage Account, while in the New Portal there is an option of creating container for the ARM storage account but i was unable to find a PowerShell cmdlets to get this done?

    Do you have latest version of PowerShell?

    Please refer below link to install and configure latest version of Azure PowerShell:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/powershell-install-configure/

    You can run following cmdlets to create Container inside an ARM Storage Account using PowerShell:

    Login-AzureRMAccount -SubscriptionId [SubscriptionID]

    Set-AzureRmCurrentStorageAccount -StorageAccountName [accountName] -ResourceGroupName [ResourceGroupName]

    Then you can run "New-AzureStorageContainer" with resource mode account (create in new portal).
