.Net Framework 3.0 Installation errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently bought Sony Vegas 8 and when I was trying to install it, it needed to install .NET Framework 3.0, but it gave me an error and said that my PC didn't meet the requirements and it would close. I tried installing it standalone, and it said there was an error, when I looked into the error report, it said this:
    EventType : wap10setup     P1 : 13165     P2 : 3.0.04506.30_waprtm_x86_sfx
    P3 : mc     P4 : inst     P5 : f     P6 :       P7 : 0x80131107     P8 : 1603
    P9 : commit     P10 : windows communic
Hopefully this helps in the problem I'm having. I've tried disabling my Antivirus, tried running the command net stop iisadmin and rebooting, but nothing has prevailed.

  • Hi JKMan723,

    Some clarification:
    What's your OS?

Based on your description, it seems that the requirements are not met for .NET Framework 3.0 installation.

Could you please check the following system requirements before installing .NET Framework 3.0?
    See: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=10CC340B-F857-4A14-83F5-25634C3BF043&displaylang=en#Requirements

    Another option for you:
Please try installing .NET Framework 3.5 instead of 3.0 since .NET 3.5 includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0.
Please check the system requirement of .NET Framework 3.5, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb882520.aspx
Then download .NET Framework 3.5: .NET Framework 3.5 full package.

If you have any problem during the installation, could you please try to use collect tool to collect the log files of .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5 from your "%temp%" folder?
    http://blogs.msdn.com/heaths/archive/2008/05/09/visual-studio-and-net-log-collection-utility.aspx

You can upload your log files to SkyDrive and post the link back here.

    Steps:
    - Try to clean your "%temp%" folder
    - Install .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5
(For Vista or later, the installer must be run with administrator privileges - Right-click the installer >> "Run as Administrator")
    - Collect the logs from "%temp%" folder
    - Upload vslogs.cab file

Hope this helps. Look forward to you. :)

    Best regards,
    Yichun Chen

  • I've tried cleaning out my %temp% folder. I am also running Windows XP Media Center Edition with SP3. I installed .Net Framework 3.5 before SP3, and SP3 caused loads of problems with software and hardware drivers. I've checked my system requirements and I don't see anything wrong with them, but here they are.

CPU- AMD Anthlon64x Dual Core with a total of 2.4GHz
    3GB of Ram
Windows XP Media Center Edition w/ SP3
    nVidia GeForce 9400 GT
250 GB Hard Drive with 60GB of Free Space
80 GB Hard Drive with 32 GB of Free Space

UPDATE: I've read on the Microsoft troubleshooting, and it said to try and uninstall every version of .NET Framework and Re-install, but now when I try to re-install after un-installing, it says that .NET Framework 1.0 is already installed. and won't install. I couldn't find the error log for .Net Framework 1.0, but here's 3.5

[08/23/09,17:50:56] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a. MSI returned error code 1603
[08/23/09,17:53:22] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a is not installed.

    And Here's just 3.0

[08/23/09,18:13:58] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 x86: [2] Error code 1603 for this component means "Fatal error during installation.
    "
[08/23/09,18:13:58] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 x86: [2] Setup Failed on component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 x86
[08/23/09,18:14:02] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 x86 is not installed.

Here's the install log for 3.0

    And here's for 3.5
