Start workflow with non-WCF messages and routing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm trying to start a workflow instance when I receive a message from a messaging system that does not support WCF. I would like to host several different types of workflows, and based on the content of the message I receive I would like to start one or more workflow instances based on this message.

I saw this question http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/wfprerelease/thread/2620E8A3-7AEA-410E-95B0-82B40BE20CC8 where Matt suggested to derive from the WorkflowServiceHost, create a new message and start the workflow. It is not apparent for me how to actually do this. Anyone got an idea on how I might solve this case?

  • When you receive a message, just spin up a WorkflowApplication and run it that way.
