EBOOT menu - What is "Set Number of Cores"? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

1- In the BSP Manual, I see an EBOOT configuration menu displayed on Putty that includes an item "Number of Cores". Is this the item for configuring the number of Cores of CPU?

2- In case we use i.MX6 Sololite which has only 1 CPU, is the item "Number of Cores" above not necessary and we can remove it from the configuration menu?

3- Although the item in the menu may be removed, do we need spend any effort to implement and set number of cores in source code of BSP (in this case it is 1)?

  • 1. Yes, on a multi-core processor (DualLite, Dual, Quad) you can set the number of active cores to use. It is very handy to sometimes just run on a single core, especially when debugging.

    2. Yes, you can remove it.

    3. No, no need. The code should detect only a single core (at least our BSP code does).

    Good luck,
