Using SignalR with WCF RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a WCF which is hosted as Windows service.

I also have a Web App [created in ReactJs].

This web app communicates with WCF service for its contents.  For every request from browser, I am sending cookie with some expiration time in WCF HTTP response to browser.

I have a timer callback in WCF which executes when cookie expires. Now, I want to send a "Session expired" message to browser when this happens.

I see that SignalR is the good solution for this. I searched about this on internet but could not find expected answer.

Could you please provide some useful links or information regarding this?

Thank you again for being there to answer my every query. :)

  • SignalR can also be addressed at the ASP.NET forums. Maybe, you may get some insight answer there.

  • Hi NavanthK,

For WCF Service, it follows Request-Response pattern. You could not send message to client without client’s request.

For SignalR, it is not related with WCF Service, you could host the SignalR in the Windows Service directly.
