  • Hi Alli,

Would you inform us the range that should be validated? I'll try to make sample VBA.

    P.S.
a sample code:  the range for validation is B2:D12
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Intersect(Target, Range("B2:D12")) Is Nothing Then
            Exit Sub
        Else
            MsgBox ("Validate value: 12 digits + 1 space + 4 digits ")
        End If
    End Sub
    Regards,

  • Hi Alli,

I've made a sample Excel file. Cliick here for download
[Note] in this sample, range for validation is "B2:D12". Please change it according your need.

    Best regard,

  • The range is N2:N1000.

I tried putting my desired range in, and when I typed an entry that should work I still got the message box.

  • I'm sorry, I cannot understand what you mentioned. Please make it concrete. What's wrong?

  • This link suggests what looks to be a reasonable solution

    http://www.j-walk.com/ss/excel/tips/tip98.htm

It suggests creating an event that will 'undo' any worksheet change event that causes an area with data validation to be overwritten.

  • Hi Alli,

You removed the question, does your issue be solved? Please mark the reply as answer, which is the solution of that question.
