WCF-Custom (sqlbinding) send port is trying to insert the data twice into SQL table. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Folks,

I'm facing duplicate data insertion issue on BizTalk server which is hosted on clustered environment. An orchestration is designed to insert the data into SQL tables through stored procedures and it's working as expected in development environment (non-clustered). But on clustered environment, few times (1 out of 10 insert operations) send port is trying to insert the data twice. Below are the send port configurations.

    • Port type: Static-One-Way
    • Adapter: WCF-Custom
    • Binding: sqlbinding
    • URI: mssql://servername:1433//Utilities?
    • Action: CompositeOperation

I have tried creating single host instance in clustered environment. But no luck!

Could anyone suggest me if any issues or changes to fixed to avoid duplicate insertion?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Are you seeing any Transmission Failures / retries on the send port?

  • Nope! I have set retry count to zero.

  • For clarity, is it BizTalk or SQL Server that is clustered.

    SQL Clustering wouldn't matter.

SQL Send Ports should not be in clustered BizTalk Hosts.

Because of these, clustering should be irrelevant.

  • Only BizTalk is clustered.

"SQL Send Ports should not be in clustered BizTalk Hosts." - Could you please elaborate this?

  • You would only cluster certain Receive Adapters.

Ones that are either non-transactional, File, the FTPs, POP3/IMAP.

Or to support certain Ordered Delivery scenarios with MSMQ/WMQ.
