report form ... prompt generates error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

i am facing this weird problem with the report form command in vfp9 sp2

i have been using refox for ages and it worked perfectly well with vfp8 sp1

after i made the move to vfp9sp2, any time a standalone exe (that has been processed with refox) issues a report form noconsole to printer prompt command, i get an error.

this anomaly does not happen when the exe is compiled and not yet refoxed. any clues??

    thank you

  • Hi Cosmo,

    You have 2 options:

1 - use SET REPORT BEHAVIOR 80, to use the same report engine from VFP8

2 - If you want to use the report engine from VFP9, using SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 90, you need to distribute separately the files ReportPreview.app and reportoutput.app. If using Refox, you still need to do one of the following:

a - Recompile the Report*.app files without encryption

         or

b - Recompile the Report*.app files with the same protection that you use in your EXE, including the same password

****** To recompile these files, you need to get their sources from the XSOURCE.ZIP file, that is in the Tools subdirectory, in VFP installation at your local disk.

    Hope that helps !
