FSCT errors with some scenarios RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to test a new clustered File Server.

    I use Windows Server 2016 with Storage Spaces Direct. My configuration maybe is not supported but is better than the current one.

    I'm using 2 Windows 7 as clients and a Windows Server 2012 as controller.

    The following steps to configure the test:

    • fsct prepare dc /users 100 /clients "XXXXXXX, XXXXXX" /password XXXXXXXXX
    • Get-ADUser -Filter {samaccountname -like 'xxxx*'} | foreach {$UPN=$($_.SamAccountName + "@xxxxx"); $_ |Set-ADUser -UserPrincipalName $UPN}
    • fsct prepare server /clients "XXXXXX, XXXXXX" /password XXXXXXX /users 100 /domain XXXXXXXX /volumes Y: /workload HomeFolders /disable_format /create_only_fileset /verbose debug
    • Get-ClusterResource "FileServer2016" |Set-ClusterParameter Aliases "FileServer2016u1,FileServer2016u2, etc..."
    • fsct prepare controller /log C:\FSCT\Log.txt /verbose debug
    • fsct prepare client /server FILESERVER2016 /password XXXXXXX /users 100 /domain XXXXXXX /server_ip XX.XX.XX.XX
    • fsct run client /controller XXXXXXX /server FILESERVER2016 /password XXXXXXX /domain XXXXXXX /verbose debug /traces "C:\FSCT\Traces" /enable_tracing
    • fsct run controller /server FILESERVER2016 /password XXXXXXXX /volumes Y: /clients "XXXXXX, XXXXXX" /min_users 10 /max_users 100 /step 10 /duration 600 /workload HomeFolders /verbose debug /traces "C:\FSCT\Traces" /enable_tracing

    I got always the following errors:

    • There were errors during running ExplorerFileDelete.dll scenario.
    • 169 NtCreateFile xC000004F{NTSTATUS}.

    • There were errors during running WordFileClose.dll scenario.
    • 943 DeviceIoControl 1{WINERR}

    • There were errors during running WordFileOpen.dll scenario.
    • 1264 DeviceIoControl 1{WINERR}.

    I don't know why. The test users have the right permissions. I deleted the test file and start the test from beginning more times.

    Could you please help me?

    Tell me if you need more details about the test scenario.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,

    Renato
