  • 1) With BizTalk360, Advanced Web Endpoint monitoring capability, monitor your HTTP, SOAP, REST based web service easily and get to know when your endpoint URL is not active.

    Refer: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/35098.biztalk-server-how-to-monitor-http-soap-and-rest-web-services-endpoints.aspx

    2) Refer the links above.

Here are some of the common scenarios you can achieve using BizTalk360 web endpoints monitoring.

    a) Monitor HTTP endpoint for status codes like 200, 202 etc making sure endpoint is not returning with errors like 404 or 500 statuses .

    b) Monitor your HTTP endpoint for response times. When you are dealing with legacy systems, it’s important to make sure they are fast enough. You may want to make sure the web service response time is not more than 5 seconds.

    c) Monitor your HTTP endpoints response to have a specific value in either an XML XPath location or JSON expression path. Example: You may be expecting customer orderid or purchase order number in the responses.

    3) No it doesn't show-up any additional error logs but the advantage of BizTalk 360 is that While monitoring multi-server environments you can Setup AEV (Advance Event Viewer) to retrieve all the event data you want from any server in your environment and display it all in a single screen, where you can use the rich query capabilities to search and analyse the data.

    Refer: https://www.biztalk360.com/advanced-event-viewer/

    4) BizTalk360 is one of the most complete tools in the market for performing support and monitoring BizTalk Server environments, one of the few that focused its efforts to fill all the gaps left by Microsoft in this area and most important, always focused on the real needs of customers.

  • Hi Rachit - our organization is new to BizTalk, but last year there was some BizTalk development which went live and has Restful services, web services, SOAP calls 2 way. There are calls made to BizTalk, but no cases are going through and no response from BizTalk. All ports are up and running, IIS is good not sure why BizTalk dont have capability of giving more information. Everyone is blaming its BizTalk server problem and I'm pretty sure its not BizTalk but I'm not able to prove. Any suggestions whats wrong with these kinda scenarios where BizTalk is consuming REST services, SOAP, web API calls ? How to tell the Business user with confirmation its not BizTalk server issue ? How can BizTalk 360 be useful in such situations ? Anyone please provide information in detail.

  • There could be many reason for that and it is totally unrelated to your original question. Please create a fresh thread with proper subject and description to get appropriate suggestions.

  • Per BizTalk 360 documentation, it uses passive monitoring by polling services externally and checking their responses. Thus, if you want to see events from actual/real calls on BizTalk servers or from boxes that consume receive locations, it will not do it for you.

Perhaps you can take a look at http://infragravity.com and request free evaluation there.  The software includes active monitoring to collect WCF, WF, IIS, BizTalk ESB events for every service call. After installing agent on BizTalk and other boxes, you should be able to trace client or service side calls and see real events including ones that are not in windows logs.
