Powerpoint 2007 : how to know which part of a powerpoint.chart (SP2) is selected by the user ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm looking for the method to obtain the ID or name of the part of chart is selected by the user (on a powerpoint slide)

In creation mode, when the user move the mouse over the chart, PowerPoint show a tooltiptext (buble message) with the "name" of the object (axe, title, areachart, ...)

How to trap (catch) this message ? Or how to trap the mouse position in the powerpoint.chart to use the GetChartElement property with x and y ?

I'am perhaps on a wrong way to try to do this ? Perhaps a solution with selection_change but how to use selection change with a chart object ? (selection_change inside the chart group ?)

    Thank you for your help,
