Extended Events Wait_Info duration column RRS feed

  • Quick question.  For ex event Wait_Info Duration column, is that in Milliseconds or Microseconds.  Also is that column show the length in time a wait happened?

  • The column is in microseconds. Yes, that is the time for the wait as such. There may also be a signal_wait; that is how long time the task had to wait to start running again.

  • Unfortunately, my answer was incorrect. Before I posted, I looked at some code where we extract data from sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file. However, I lost myself in that code, and thought we were dividing the waiting time with 1000, but we are not. So the correct answer is milliseconds.
